About this product

100 W folding solar panel, in two sections, designed to recharge a Volta power station far from any connection.

182 × 182 mm monocrystalline cells with 23 % efficiency, ETFE front surface, EVA encapsulation and epoxy resin backing. The dyed polyester carry case doubles as a stand.

Output of 20.5 V at 4.9 A at the maximum power point, with a 2-metre MC4 cable. Folded: 600 × 565 × 30 mm. Unfolded: 1,130 × 600 × 4 mm. 3.8 kg.

This is the top-up model of the range: it fits in a boot and is carried in one hand. To refill a whole station between two stops, the 200 W is twice as fast.

Shipping and returns

Order dispatched within 24 hours. Then allow around fifteen days for delivery in mainland France; shipping is calculated in the cart before payment, and nothing is added after the order.

You may withdraw for 14 days after delivery. The estimated maximum cost of a return is €15 for an accessory. See Delivery and lead times and Returns and withdrawal.

Warranty and after-sales

Two years, parts and labour. Those two years are the statutory warranty of conformity, which we apply at no cost to you: the return, the repair or replacement and the reshipment are all on us.

After-sales support is handled in France, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm — contact@attolle.com, +33 (0)4 28 29 08 16. See Warranty and support.

Compliance and documents

We hold the manufacturer's technical data sheet for these two references. The test reports and certificates we obtain are published with their number and their laboratory on the Our checks page, as they reach us.

The EU Declaration of Conformity is available on request at contact@attolle.com, stating the reference concerned.

WHAT THIS PRODUCT CANNOT DO

The 100 W figure is measured in laboratory conditions: 1,000 W/m², cell at 25 °C, tolerance ± 5 %. Under a real sky, with the panel poorly angled or in strong heat, output drops noticeably — the manufacturer's data sheet states −0.38 % per degree above 25 °C.

At 100 W, filling 1 kWh takes about ten hours of full sun at best, and more in everyday use. To refill a whole station between two stops, the 200 W is better suited.

The output is MC4: connecting to the DC input of a Volta station goes through the adapter in the cable kit.

A panel is not a substitute for a mains charge before you leave.

    Nicolas F.

    MC4 output

The input on Volta stations is DC 5525; the cable that bridges the two is in the kit supplied with the station. For a station of another brand, see the multi-connector adapter.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

The questions we get asked about solar

Does the panel plug straight into a Volta station?

It needs an adapter cable, and you already have it. The panel outputs MC4, the standard photovoltaic connector, whereas the input on Volta stations is a DC 5525 socket: the MC4-to-DC 5525 cable that bridges the two is in the cable kit supplied with every station.

So there is nothing extra to buy if your station is a Volta: choose “the panel on its own”.

How long does it take to recharge a station?

A panel almost never delivers its peak power: that figure is measured at 1,000 W/m² with the cell at 25 °C, laboratory conditions. In full sun, well angled, you commonly get 60 to 75 % of the stated value, and far less under a hazy sky.

On that basis, the 200 W fills the 1,024 Wh of a Volta 1600 in one good sunny day, and the 100 W in two. These are calculated orders of magnitude, not measurements: we will publish readings once we have them.

Can it stay outside in the rain?

No. The front face is ETFE and copes with damp, but the manufacturer's data sheet states no ingress protection rating for the assembly, and neither the polyester case nor the connectors are meant to sit through a downpour. Fold it away when the weather turns.

Does it work with a station from another brand?

Often, yes, provided you check two things on your station: that its solar input accepts 20.5 V at the maximum power point — the open-circuit voltage rises to 24 V — and that it takes the panel's current, 4.9 A for the 100 W and 9.8 A for the 200 W. The MC4 connector is a standard; what changes is the adapter cable into your station's input. That is exactly what the multi-connector adapter offered above covers: XT60, Anderson, DC5521 and DC5525.

100 W or 200 W?

The 100 W is a top-up: 3.8 kg, two folding sections, it fits in a boot and keeps a station's charge going through the day. The 200 W genuinely recharges, but it weighs 7 kg and measures 2.16 m once unfolded — it needs room, and something to weigh it down in a steady wind.

If the panel is there so you never have to drive home to recharge, take the 200 W. If it is there so you never drop to zero, the 100 W is enough.

TO GO WITH IT

What you need to connect it

Volta stations ship with the solar connection cable: nothing to add. The multi-connector adapter, at €30, is only needed to connect the panel to a station of another brand.

The sun recharges. You stay put.
